Share your knowledge

Maritime Technical Resources is a networking site intended for the exchange of information between marine industry professionals, and those interested in the marine industry. We participate in knowledge management by providing a knowledge repository where information sharing can lead to the creation of new knowledge - sometimes after a lot of hard work and possibly quite a bit of failure!
To participate, click the Share your Knowledge button once you are logged in as a member.

1. Tech (Technical) Tips

We accept Tech Tips for any product, task or aspect of the marine industry, such as the proper wiring of a bilge pump, the plumbing of a marine head or the proper installation of a thru hull valve.
The Tech Tip will be reviewed by MTR and posted for the benefit of other members.

2. Newsletter Topics and Content

Suggest a Newsletter topic or send us content to share with the other members. This could be a construction regulation change or general marine news. However, you must first Join on the Join page to set up an account or Login to your account, on the Login page, before you can submit items. The Share Your Knowledge button on these pages will provide you with access to the appropriate form for submitting information. If we need to edit your text, we will return the edits if necessary for approval before publishing.

Contributing to Tech Tips and the Newsletter

Why contribute to Tech Tips?

The marine industry is a small world-wide community. Unfortunately our industry is highly affected by economic growth and downturns, as we experienced starting in 08', and are still feeling today. Being in an industry such as ours, we need all members of our community to help each other be more efficient and cost effective. Based on the ripple affect theory; what happens to one typically affects us all.

What could it do for me?

Believe it or not, posting a Tech tip could bring work into your shop or get you a job.
Benefits to companies seeking customers
If a Vessel Owner needs to have a bilge pump installed on his boat or yacht and you authored a tip or identified a new regulation about the installation of a bilge pump, the chance of his next call or email being to you is probably pretty high.

Benefits for craftsmen looking for a job
If a company has an available job for a rigger, and as a rigger you posted a tip on how to properly rig and tune a sailing vessel, you can refer them to your tip which will probably influence the decision to hire you.

DISCLAIMER
